Praslin, Seychelles & Last Day on the Silver Wind

Our last full day on the Silver Wind 🙁  The ship did try to make it to Le Digue again this morning but it was still unsafe so we were again anchored off of Praslin. As we had already explored this island, we were a bit lost as to what to do. We talked to the onboard local guide and discovered a free shuttle to Anse d’Or – we could see huge turtles there! We hopped on the 9am tender and got on the 9:30 shuttle bus. The ride was quick along a 2 lane road and soon we were walking along the beach. This beach was slightly more crowded, not AS beautiful as Anse Lazio, but still gorgeous by any standard.  We walked, took photos and also ended up seeing 5-6 HUGE turtles. They were over 100 years old and were so cool to watch moving around and eating their leaves.

Oh hai! Delicious

We spent the rest of the day packing up our things, playing trivia and winning (3rd place) and ended up having dinner with Ira Feldman. Our plan was to figure out how to have a gig like he has when we are older, which is cruising around and giving lectures on the destinations. Turns out, Dave would be especially good at this and we are all having dinner in early March when Ira will be in NY. Dave has to think up 3 lecture topics for South Africa and eventually make possible lectures for each. I won’t say more as this blog is public, but it will be an exciting dinner for sure 🙂
