Finally!

Today started out very early because I needed to get up and shower and also download The Office and 30 Rock for viewing in Australia. I was ready on time, loaded up my car with my 2 carry-on sized bags (1 mostly food & items that are staying in Sydney) as well as a backpack. I feel like I have so much, but I guess it’s not too bad for 2 weeks. Class was ok, but I found it really hard to concentrate knowing that as soon as it was over I was going to be driving to Logan! Course, there was one obstacle in the way. M had emailed both Kymba and Angela and told them to tell me to burn a data cd for her and then call her to confirm. I was really frustrated because we had gone over everything yesterday and this never came up and I didn’t understand why she had to email Angela…it was a little strange. I had backed up absolutely everything on my harddrive and then datafiles were also backed up on a server. Kymba and I ran to the office, I made the cd, emailed a copy to Pat, called M and finally we were off!!

Logan wasn’t bad – very quick to get there, no line to check in, and then a Legal Seafood right there. I hadn’t eaten anything and it was already about 1:30, so I had a bowl of chowder and a sam summer which was a perfect farewell to Boston. Doing that, just sitting at a bar or in a place like that, eating chowder and having a beer makes me feel very Bostonian and actually pretty fortunate that I grew up in such an awesome part of the country. But! Off to see other parts of the world now!! Security was a breeze, then I sat at the gate, called my mom, Sarah, Gig and texted Jean while painting my nails and charging my laptop. We boarded on time, took off a few minutes late, but apparently are going to be landing pretty much on time (6:40) in SFO. It’s 5:40 now so only an hour more. This flight was a joke. I read 2 papers, watched 2 episodes of 30 Rock (showing on the tv’s here!! Greenzo -out!), read Cosmo, and watched the first episode of Entourage (ehh-). Oh, and I’m by the window and the Rocky and Sierra Nevada mountains are just so so cool to go over; I’d love to see them for real some day. K, going to read another paper and then probably land. 15 more hours of flying to go!

K so landing went well and then i got off the plane in a hurry and had to move to the International terminal. I thought I was going to have to pass through security again and take a shuttle or something but instead they have this little bus that goes straight from the arrival gate to the international terminal. It was basically a major hole in security. Anyways, on the other side I checked out the terminal and found that there was basically only one place where I wanted to eat, and that was the burrito place. I had a fantastic chicken and bean burrito then used the internet (Jean gave me a password) at the gate. I chatted with Jean, Dave, and Viraj until my flight was ready to board. Now I had asked about moving up to business or first class but they told me the seats were full. Well, there were entire rows of economy plus seating that were empty. After they closed the cabin doors, I quickly moved up and had an entire row all to myself! Absolutely terrific. We were a bit late taking off because apparently you can’t land in Sydney before 6am. By 11:30pm we were off – Sydney soon!
