Sailing to India on the Silver Wind

These days sailing to India…I was going to write about each day separately, but honestly these days smooshed together. We slept a lot both days, that is for sure. We did other things too, like played Scrabble, played trivia with our old British team and we ate a lot. Meals included pizza and Indian food by the pool (the Indian food wasn’t good), room service for dinner or filet with pepper sauce in the dining room alongside venison carpaccio.

We also drank a lot (for us). Champagne, long island iced teas (too strong!) and french martinis for me and amaretto sours for Dave. We went in the hot tub on Thursday night before bed, which only ended up being “before bed” because Dave passed out immediately after getting out of the water. On tv we saw Ira’s lecture (he is our expert for our destinations) on Mumbai, which made us very excited to be in India tomorrow. Our pirate briefing, which we missed but got notes on, was less than exciting. From now until the end of the cruise we will be in “pirate waters” which isn’t as hilarious as it sounds at all. Frankly I’m quite scared even though the chances of an encounter are very small. The ship will zig zag if pirates try to board but I mean…they are pirates, haven’t ships tried to do that before? Aren’t they scary-as-hell Somalians? Yes. I don’ t think Johnny Depp is your typical pirate.

Honestly that was about it for these 2 days at sea, which was just perfect.  We never get to rest on our trips and it was nice to have some time together, alone doing nothing, while at the same time making our way to India. All that and we’ve just been on our honeymoon for 1 week!!
